MRPeasy vs KNKTD OS: manufacturing planning or fashion brand operations?
MRPeasy plans production you run yourself. KNKTD OS runs everything around production when your factories are partners.
· 7 min read
Verdict: MRPeasy is manufacturing software: choose it if you cut and sew in your own workshop and need production scheduling. KNKTD OS is the better fit for a Shopify fashion brand that designs in-house and produces with external factories, because it covers development, buying, stock, orders, labels and returns around the factory rather than inside it.
MRPeasy calls itself MRP software for small manufacturers, ideal for companies of 10 to 200 people. Its core is production: bills of materials, planning, scheduling, work centres and procurement.
KNKTD OS is operations software for fashion brands on Shopify: product development, inventory, orders, shipping and marketing in one connected system. It does not schedule a production floor.
The question that decides it
Do you run the factory?
If your team cuts fabric, assigns operators and schedules machines, you need an MRP, and MRPeasy is built for exactly that. KNKTD OS would not replace it.
If a supplier makes your product to your techpack and ships it to you, an MRP's production scheduling sits idle. What you need is the techpack, the purchase order, receiving by size, stock across locations and a clean path from Shopify order to parcel and back.
Sizes and colours
MRPeasy's matrix BOM (on Professional and above) handles size and colour as parameters: they add SKU suffixes and can change fabric quantities, which is genuinely useful when you make the garment yourself.
KNKTD OS models sizes and colours from the style's size chart and colourways, and reads stock, sales velocity and reorders by size. A reorder can be pre-filled from the size curve of what sold while each size was actually in stock. See demand planning by size.
A bill of materials is not a techpack
MRPeasy has no techpacks, size charts, measurement specifications or sample tracking. Its BOM tells your floor what to consume; it does not tell an external factory how to make the garment.
KNKTD OS generates a versioned techpack from the style: annotated sketches, bill of materials, measurements, construction, care, packaging, artwork, costing and fit history, as a PDF for the factory. See the product development module.

Shopify
MRPeasy brings Shopify orders in as customer orders and sends available quantities back hourly in individual-order mode. Products are not synced: they must exist in both systems and are matched by SKU, and orders older than 60 days cannot be accessed.
KNKTD OS syncs products, variants, media and prices with Shopify both ways, pushes stock out after a one-time copy when you connect, and edits, cancels and refunds orders from KNKTD OS. Each order is scanned item by item before the box closes. See orders and fulfilment.

When using both makes sense
A brand that makes some lines in its own workshop and outsources others can run MRPeasy for the floor and KNKTD OS for development, buying, Shopify, shipping and returns. If everything is made by external factories, KNKTD OS covers the operation on its own.
Bottom line
MRPeasy is excellent at what it is for: planning production you run yourself.
If your factories are partners rather than rooms in your building, KNKTD OS is the more complete system for a Shopify fashion brand, and it costs less for the same team.

Frequently asked questions
Should a clothing brand use MRPeasy?
If the brand cuts, sews and schedules production in its own workshop, MRPeasy is built for that. If an external factory makes the product, production scheduling sits idle and the brand needs techpacks, buying by size, Shopify orders, labels and returns instead.
Does MRPeasy sync products with Shopify?
No. MRPeasy imports Shopify orders and sends available quantities back hourly in individual-order mode, but products must already exist in both systems and are matched by SKU. KNKTD OS syncs products, variants, media and prices with Shopify both ways.
Can I use MRPeasy and KNKTD OS together?
Yes, when a brand makes some lines in-house and outsources others: MRPeasy for the production floor, KNKTD OS for development, buying, Shopify, shipping and returns. If every product is made by external factories, KNKTD OS covers the operation alone.
