Unleashed vs KNKTD OS: inventory management or a fashion operating system?

Unleashed is strong wholesale inventory software with price tiers and accounting sync. KNKTD OS runs a Shopify fashion brand from techpack to return.

Verdict: Unleashed is strong general inventory software for wholesalers and distributors, with tiered B2B pricing, batch and serial tracking, and accounting sync. KNKTD OS is the better fit for a Shopify-first fashion brand, because it models styles, sizes and colourways from development onward and keeps buying, stock, orders, labels and returns in one workflow.

Unleashed describes itself as inventory management software for companies of 5 to 500 people, across manufacturing, wholesale, food and beverage and ecommerce. It is a capable, mature product. Fashion is one of many industries it can serve, not the one it is designed around.

KNKTD OS is narrower on purpose. It is operations software for fashion brands on Shopify: product development, inventory, orders, shipping and marketing in one connected system.

The decision in 30 seconds

Choose Unleashed if wholesale is your main channel, you need batch or serial traceability, or you want inventory tightly synced to Xero or QuickBooks.

Choose KNKTD OS if you design your own product, sell mainly through Shopify, and want the style, techpack, purchase order, stock, market price, label and return on one record.

Sizes and colours are where fashion software is tested

A single jacket in three colourways and five sizes is 15 variants. How a system models that decides how much of your week goes into product admin.

In Unleashed, each variant is its own product code: its guidance is to create a SKU per variant, and attribute sets add custom fields to a product rather than generating a size-by-colour grid. That is workable, and many brands run it. But the relationship between the 15 codes lives in your naming convention, not in the product.

In KNKTD OS, the style's size chart and colourways generate the variants, SKUs and barcodes by rule. Stock, sales velocity and purchase orders are read by size, so a reorder can be pre-filled from the size curve of what actually sold while each size was in stock.

Product development is outside Unleashed

Unleashed has no techpacks, size charts, sample tracking or development lifecycle. A fashion brand using it keeps development in another tool, then recreates the approved product in inventory.

KNKTD OS starts before the SKU exists. A style carries its designer, season, colourways, size chart, measurements, costing per production run and a lifecycle you define. Its techpack is versioned and generated as a PDF for the factory. When the style is approved, it becomes the inventory product without being typed in again. See the product development module.

Shopify: similar direction, different depth

Unleashed's Shopify connector sends stock from Unleashed to Shopify and brings orders and customers in, with fulfilment and tracking synced both ways. For products you choose one master, and Unleashed advises against making itself the master when your Shopify products have variants.

KNKTD OS also pushes stock from KNKTD OS to Shopify, after a one-time copy when you connect. Products, variants, media and prices sync both ways, orders are edited, cancelled and refunded from KNKTD OS and written back to Shopify, and each order is scanned item by item before the box closes. Where Unleashed wins

Unleashed is the stronger choice for wholesale-led businesses: ten sell-price tiers, customer pricing and a B2B store. It has batch and serial traceability, which KNKTD OS does not, and it syncs with Xero and QuickBooks Online. If those are central to your business, they outweigh fashion-specific workflow.

Bottom line

If you need general inventory software with deep wholesale and accounting connections, Unleashed is the more established choice.

If you are a Shopify-first fashion brand that designs its own product and works with external factories, the work starts before stock exists and continues after the order ships. KNKTD OS runs that whole chain, at a lower price for the same team size.

Frequently asked questions

Is Unleashed good for clothing brands?

Unleashed is capable inventory software for wholesale and distribution, with price tiers, batch and serial tracking and Xero or QuickBooks sync. It treats each size and colour as its own product code and has no product development, so a clothing brand that designs in-house keeps techpacks elsewhere.

What is the best Unleashed alternative for a Shopify fashion brand?

For a brand that designs its own product, works with external factories and sells mainly on Shopify, KNKTD OS covers more of the work: styles and techpacks, purchase orders by size, stock by bin, Shopify orders, carrier labels and returns, from $100 a month.

How do Unleashed and KNKTD OS prices compare?

On 13 October 2026 Unleashed listed Lite at $99, Core at $399 and Pro at $729 a month for three to five users, plus a one-off onboarding fee. KNKTD OS has four flat plans from $100 to $500 a month, with every module included and a 14-day free trial.
